How to Choose a Name For Your Handyman Business

Starting any kind of business requires the owner and his partners to come up with a brand name. This may not come easy, though, as you arecompeting with numerous businesses in your specific category. In almost any business today, there’s stiff competition the reason why it’s vital toprovide a name that people will easily remember.

Choosing a name for your handyman business is not a simple task. You want to come up with a name that will help customers know what it isyour business does.  You don’t want to choose something generic like Bob’s Service.  What is Bob selling?   You might also choose to leave theword “handyman” out of your business name since it is very common.  You could instead use words such repairman, fix it, or Handy Bob, etc.  Youcan include your name in order to personalize you handyman business.  An example would be Williams Home Repair Service, or Bobs HomeImprovement Service.  You may also want to add in descriptive words like reliable, trusted, etc.

Get creative and make sure no one else in your city is using the name you choose.  You also need a name that is easy to remeber.  Think ofsomething catchy but related to your business. The easier it is to recall, the better for your business.

One creative and unique name is “Rent a Husband.” This handyman business was started by a then unemployed man, Kaile Warren Jr.,  Afterjust 3 years in the business, Warren had 26 franchises in the U.S. and two in the U.K. Warren now employess 400 workers and earns an estimated $8 million in revenue.

Many homeowners today still prefer to call a handyman to do minor home repairs. This is therefore one business area with a great income potential.
